Let us consider the structure of the diet.

Indications: diabetes mellitus (mild to moderate severity).

Common characteristics: the energy value of diet, reduced by moderate carbohydrate and animal fats, the complete exclusion of sugars and sweets, use of xylitol and sorbitol.

Chemical composition and energy value (the daily ration of food):

Protein – 90 to 100 g,

fat – 75 to 80 g (30% of plant required)

carbohydrates – from 300 to 350 g (polysaccharides);

Energy – 2300-2500 kcal.

Bread: rye, wheat, protein-wheat;

Soups: vegetable soups, broths of lean meat and fish;

Meat dishes: lean meats, fish and poultry;

Dairy products: milk, dairy products, low-fat cottage cheese and cheese;

Garnishes: buckwheat, barley, millet, oats, barley;

Fruits and Vegetables: any beans, potatoes and vegetables, fresh fruits, berries and sour-sweet varieties.

Diet 9 with diabetes: exclude food and dishes:

Products from baking, strong and fatty meat or fish broth, milk and cheese fatty meats, fish, poultry, sausage and salted fish, meat and cooking fats, salty cheese, cream, cottage cheese, sweet cheese, rice, semolina, pasta, salt and marinated vegetables, grapes or raisins, sugar, jam and candy, sweet juices, lemonades;

Sample menu diet 9 with diabetes:

1-nd Breakfast: low-fat cottage cheese with milk, buckwheat (crumbly), tea.

2-nd breakfast: boiled wheat bran.

Lunch: vegetarian soup from fresh cabbage with vegetable oil, boiled meat with milk sauce, carrot stew, fruit jelly.

Afternoon snack: fresh apples or pears.

Dinner: cabbage steak with boiled fish (in a milky sauce), weak tea.

At night: kefir or fermented baked.
